Criterion The LCD with extensive crack is not acceptable. 11.1 Illumination source flickers when lit. 11.2 Spots or scratches that appear when lit must be judged. using LCD spot, lines and contamination standards. 11.3 Backlight does n't light or color is wrong. 12.1 Bezel may not have rust, be deformed or have fingerprints, stains or other contamination. 12.2 Bezel must comply with job specifications. 13.1 COB seal may not have pin holes larger than 0.2mm or contamination. 13.2 COB seal surface may not have pinholes through to the IC. 13.3 The height of the COB should not exceed the height indicated in the assembly diagram. 13.4 There may not be more than 2mm of sealant outside the seal area on the PCB. And there should be no more than three places. 13.5 No oxidation or contamination on PCB terminals. 13.6 Parts on PCB must be the same as on the production characteristic chart. There should be no wrong parts, missing parts or excess parts. 13.7 The jumper on the PCB should conform to the product characteristic chart. 13.8 If solder gets on bezel tab pads, LED pad, zebra pad or screw hole pad, make sure it is smoothed down. 14.1 No unmelted solder paste may be present on the PCB. 14.2 No cold solder joints, missing solder connections, oxidation or icicle. 14.3 No residue or solder balls on PCB. 14.4 No short circuits in components on PCB.

No oxidation, contamination, curves or, bends on interface Pin (OLB) of TCP. No cracks on interface pin (OLB) of TCP. No contamination, solder residue or solder balls on product. The IC on the TCP may not be damaged, circuits. The uppermost edge of the protective strip on the interface pin must be present or look if it cause the in interface pin to sever. The residual rosin or tin oil of soldering (component or chip component ) is not burned into brown or black color. Sealant on top of the ITO circuit has not hardened. Pin type must match type in specification sheet. LCD pin loose or missing pins. Product packaging must the same as specified on packaging specification sheet. 16.Precautions For Use Of LCD Modules
A. Liquid Crystal Display Modules (LCM) a. Mechanical Considerations
JEWEL HILL
LCM are assembled and adjusted with a high degree of precision. Avoid excessive shocks and do not make any alterations or modifications. The following should be noted. n o o o .) Do not tamper in any way with the tabs on the metal frame. .) Do not modify the PCB by drilling extra holes, changing its outline, moving its components or modifying its pattern. .) Do not touch the elastomer connector (conductive rubber), especially when inserting an EL panel.
.) When mounting a LCM make sure that the PCB is not under any stress such as bending or twisting. Elastomer contacts are very delicate and missing pixels could result from sligyt dislocation of any of the elements. .) Avoid pressing on the metal bezel, otherwise the elastomer connector could be deformed and lose contact, resulting in missing pixels. Static Electricity LCM contains CMOS LSI's and the same precaution for such devices should apply, namely:

.) The operator should be grounded whenever he comes into contact with the module. Never touch any of the conductive parts such as the LSI pads, the copper leads on the PCB and the interface terminals with any part of the human body.

.) The modules should be kept in antistatic bags or other containers resistant to static for storage. .) Only properly grounded soldering irons should be used. .) If an electric screw driver is used it should be well grounded and shielded from commutator sparks. .) The normal static prevention measures should be observed for work clothes and working benches; for the latter conductive(rubber)mat is recommended. o .) Since dry air is inductive to statics, a relative humidity of 50 - 60% is recommended. c. n o o o o o / Soldering
.) Solder only to the I/O terminals. .) Use only soldering irons with proper grounding and no leakage. .) Soldering temperature is 280aeA .) Soldering time: 3 to 4 seconds. .) Use eutectic solder with resin flux fill. spatters. Flux residue should be removed afterwards. .) Use proper de-soldering methods(e.e. suction type desoldering irons) to remove lead wires from the I/O terminal when necessary. Do not repeat the soldering / desoldering process more than three times as the pads and plated through holdes may be damaged. .) If flux is used. The LCD surface should be covered to avoid flux 10ae .

.) The viewing angle can be adjusted by varying the LCD driving voltage Vo. .) Driving voltage should be kept within specified range, excess voltage shortens display life. .) Response time increases with decrease in temperature. .) Display may turn black or dark Blue at temperatures above its operational range; this is however not destructive and the display will return to normal once the temperature falls back to range. o .) Mechanical disturbance during operation(such as pressing on the viewing area) may cause the segments to appear "fractured". They will recove once the display is turned off.

.) Condensation at terminals will cause malfunction and possible electrochemical reaction. Relative humidity of the environment should therefore be kept below 60%. C. Storage n .) LCD's should be kept in sealed polyethylene bags while LCM's should use antistatic ones. If properly sealed, there is no need for desiccant.

.) Store in dark places and do not expose to sunlight or fluorescent light. Keep the temperature between 0ae D. Safety If any fluid leaks out of a damaged glass cell, wash off any human part that comes into contact with soap and water. Never swallow the fluid. The toxicity is extremely low but caution should be exercised at all times.
